2-D Design Issues may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Unity – All the elements of an image are working together to make it work (Does the “cold” color tone fit with the person’s “cold” expression?, etc).   Unity is kinda like the opposite of juxtaposition.
Balance – Does the piece have the same “visual weight” on the left side as the right?
Harmony – Kindof a vague principle – It’s about images that seem to “fit,” like pieces of a puzzle
Variety
Emphasis – We’ve discussed MANY ways to use emphasis in photography. Framing Device emphasizes the focal point, for example.
